Christopher Hovenga

Christopher Harm Hovenga, age 38, of Herrin, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at Herrin Hospital.

Funeral Service will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, November 30th, 2021 at Johnson Hughes with Rev. Ralph Brandon officiating. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 30, 2021 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the funeral home.

Christopher was born June 07, 1983 in Herrin, Illinois, a son of John and Lynola (Palmer) Hovenga. He is survived by his mother, Lynola (Palmer) Hovenga of Herrin, IL; one sister, Tracy Galloway (David) of Herrin, IL; and his nephew, Johnathon Galloway (Averie) of Clarksville, TN, niece Brittany Galloway of Herrin, IL, aunt Elaine Kenner (Jerry) of Herrin, IL, Great Aunt Donna Howell of Carterville, IL, special friend Cate Butler of Carbondale, IL, special friend Leighton Saylers of Carbondale, IL, Special Cousins Abby, Wyatt And Charlie Hovenga along with several cousins he also thought a lot of.
He is preceded in death by his father, John K. Hovenga and his Grandparents, Harm and Mary Hovenga, Grandparents Carlton and Awanda Palmer, Aunt and Uncle Stanley and Tammy Hovenga, and uncle Brad Palmer.
