Christina M. Smith

Christina M. Smith, age 48, of Marion, Illinois,  passed away Sunday, October 9, 2022 at her  residence in Marion, Illinois.

Christina was born October 04, 1974 in Pinkneyville, Illinois, a daughter of Richard L. and Lorena J. (Stuart) Smith.  She grew up in Murphysboro, IL and her family moved to Herrin, IL where she attended Herrin High School.  She worked for a while at a nursing home and spent the rest of her working career in the Hotel Industry working as office manager.   

She is survived by two children, Dynasty L. Pierce of Marion, IL and Blake M. Pierce (Adison Allgaier) of Harrisburg, IL; two grandchildren, Evan S. Newman and August M.C. Pierce; her father, Richard L. Smith of Herrin, IL; two sisters, Connie S. Taylor of Murphysboro, IL and Sharon A. (Steve) Carlton of Macedonia, IL; and her three nieces, Marynell Smith, Lorena White, and Avahlyn McGee.  She is preceded in death by her former husband Larry E. Pierce Jr.; one daughter, Kearra M. Pierce; and her mother, Lorena June Smith.

Visitation will be Friday, October 14th, 2022 from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin, Illinois.  Funeral services will follow Friday, October 14, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Gossage officiating.  Burial will be  at Herrin City Cemetery in Herrin.
