Charles Leon Grider

July 5, 1941 — January 9, 2018

Marion- Charles Leon Grider, age 76, of Marion, passed away at 3:25pm on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Heartland Regional Medical Center. Charles was born in Marion on July 5, 1941, the son of Edward Vernon "Boots" and Imogene Juanita (Chamness) Grider.  He was very involved in The Promise of Marion, where he made some very dear friends. Survivors include his son- Keith Grider of Johnston City Four Nieces- DeAnn Bowden and husband David of Marion Angela Johnson and husband Larry of Marion Amy Fuller- Heaton and husband Wes of Hueytown, AL Bethany Fuller-Kjellesvik and husband Tim of Eureka, MO Several great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews Caregiver and Special Friend- Sheila Kerns of Marion He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, January 15, 2018 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Pastor Jason Jean officiating. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Marion.   A time of visitation will be held from 11am-1pm on Monday at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Promise.
