Charles Edward Daum

Charles Edward Daum, age 74, of Marion, Illinois, passed away suddenly on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion, Illinois.

Charles was born March 25, 1949 in DuQuoin, Illinois, a son of Edward and Arvilla (Sharp) Daum. Charles grew up in Marion and was a Marion High School graduate in 1967. He attended SIU with an Associates Degree in Electronics. He joined the US Air Force, serving in Vietnam. After the service, he worked for GTE in Tampa, FL as Central Office Technician. He married Frances M. Cannata on September 09, 1978 in Tampa, FL. Charles returned to Marion in 2003 to care for his mother. He had owned several Corvettes, was a HAM Radio Operator, an avid target shooter and loved many pet cats.

Survived by his wife Frances M. Daum of Marion, IL. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward L. and Arvilla Daum and one brother, William Daum.

Visitation will be Saturday, September 9th, 2023 from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home. Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11:00 AM with Rev Keith Owens officiating.
