Charles D. Ogden

Charles D. Ogden, 85, passed away on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at 9:10 am.  Charles was born in Carterville, the son of Robert and Lucy (Starling) Ogden on September 16, 1935.

Charles is survived by his brothers, Ed of Mexico, Larry (Judy) of West Frankfort and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Don, Jack and Bill Ogden, sisters Dorothy Litton, Erna Lindsey, Erma and Emma Ogden.

Charles started his career working for Dr. Fine in Carterville then worked at Campbell Drug in Marion and Herrin Drug as a pharmacist assistant.

He will be missed by many family and friends, including Dr. Fine’s children, the McCamish family, David (Marie) Samuel and Bill Spiller.  Also, his best buddy, his dog PeeWee.

Private services will be held at a later date.  Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois, Blue West Team, 204 Halfway Road, Marion, Illinois  62959.  Envelopes will be also be available and accepted at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home, 800 North Market Street, PO Box 39, Marion, Illinois  62959.

Almost 1 one since he passed away all his friends and family still miss him I thought he would survive until I like 18 years old. Around the first few weeks of his funeral I walked to the cemetery and pray

I just found this where Charlie had passed away. I've known Charlie since my youngest was a baby. He was an amazing, caring and thoughtful man. My kids are going to miss Uncle Charlie as they had known him. I will forever remember him and all the talks we had and times we got to spend with him.
