Carolyn Marie Myers

Carolyn Marie Myers, 69, of Marion, passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at 10:50 pm at her home. Carolyn was born February 17, 1948 in Marion the daughter of Jackson Albert and Wahneta (Miller) Jordan. She married Larry Myers in Morrisville, Indiana on August 28, 1966 and together they have shared over 51 years of marriage. She was a member of Lone Oak Baptist Church, and had worked as a waitress and cashier. Carolyn loved to cook, bake and can the vegetables she and Larry grew themselves.  She enjoyed reading, growing flowers despite her luck of killing them and going to rummage sales.  Carolyn was a strong and courageous woman who will be missed dearly by her family and friends. Survivors include her; Husband – Larry Myers of Marion Son – David L. Myers (Jeri) of Marion Daughter – Angela Nicole Griffith of Marion Granddaughter – Alivia Piper Marie Griffith of Marion Two step-grandchildren; Danielle Barnett of Alabama Dakota Nicks of Alabama Three brothers; Jack Jordan, Jr of Marion Steve Jordan of Herrin Mark Jordan of Herrin Cousin – Phillip Miller of Christopher Several nieces and nephews Preceded by her Parents and brother Bill Jordan Funeral services will be Monday, February 12, 2018 at 2 pm at Lone Oak Baptist Church in Energy with Rev. Jerry Schell, Rev. Gilbert Craig and Pastor David Dyer officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant- Poordo cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 12 pm until the time of service at the church. Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family with arrangements. For those who prefer memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or Lone Oak Baptist Church.
