Buddy J. Brimm, 81, of Marion, passed away on Monday, July 31, 2017 at 11:05 am at Heartland Regional Medical Center. Buddy was born June 22, 1936 in Anna the son of Ira and Clara (White) Brimm. He married Barbara Morrison on September 14, 1974 in Marion and together they have shared over 42 years of marriage. He was an Army veteran, proudly answering the call to serve his country. Buddy retired from General Telephone, following his retirement he worked for Marion Unit #2 as a mail carrier for the Special Education Department.  His memberships included the 3rd Baptist Church of Marion, Cobden Masonic Lodge #466,  Valley of Southern Illinois Scottish Rite, Ainad Temple. Survivors include his: Wife – Barbara Brimm of Marion Daughter – Patty McGuire and companion Brian Kwasniewski of Marion Sister – Barbara Cox and husband David of Cobden Sister-in-law – Ruby Brimm of Anna Several nieces, nephews and cousins Preceded by his Parents, three brothers – Leon, Carl and Bobby Brimm Funeral services will be Friday, August 4, 2017 at 11 am at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Kallum and Rev. Paul Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.  Military rites will be presented by members of the Marion V.F.W. #1301, American Legion Post #147 and National Guard Flag Detail Unit.  Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5 – 8 pm at the funeral home.  Masonic Rites will be conducted at 7 pm. For those who prefer memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children or Cobden Masonic Lodge #466. Envelopes will be available and accepted at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home, 800 North Market Street, Marion, Illinois  62959.
