Billy Joe McCarty

Marion-Billy Joe McCarty, 55, passed away at 2:15pm on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Heartland Regional Medical Center. Billy was born on September 23, 1963 in Chicago Heights to William and Sandra (Personius) Jarvis. Billy worked as a stocker at Save-A-Lot. He was of Christian faith and always participated in John A. Logan Hunting and Fishing Days. Billy’s hobbies included fishing and tent camping at Crab Orchard Lake, trips to Tennessee and Arkansas and he enjoyed drinking recreational beverages with friends. Survivors include: Best friend-Donna McCarty of Marion Step mother-Margaret Pier of Decherd, TN Son-William Joe McCarty of Marion Daughter-Brandi Lynn McCarty of Marion Son-Richard John Campbell II of Marion Brothers and sisters- Kathy, Peggy, Beth Ann, Tonya and Amilia and Tommy Joe, Donny and Mark. Many nieces and nephews He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 2, 2018 at 12pm at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with Ivan Ryan officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Poordo Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 11am until the time of service at the funeral home.
