Bill W. Boomer, 78, of Marion, passed away on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 10:20 am at Parkway Manor.
Bill was born June 9, 1938 in Herrin the son of Cline and Hazel (Grimes) Boomer. He married Pam Carter and she survives in Marion.
He proudly answered the call to serve to serve his country in the Army, where he was a member of the Veteran Police. Bill was a member of the Messiah Christian Church, he was the produce manager for Bays Grocery and had worked as a gas station attendant.

Son – Jeff Boomer(Robert) of Marion
Son – B.J. Boomer (Martin) of Makanda
Grandchildren;
Kristopher Boomer of Marion
Stormy Boomer-Hopper of Marion
Damien Boomer-Hopper of Marion
Sister – Doris Apple of Florida
Preceded by his Parents.
Memorial services will be Friday, March 10, 2017 at 6 pm at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. Lee Wollard officiating. Visitation will be from 4 pm until time of service at the funeral home.
For those who prefer memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Envelopes will be available and accepted at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home, 800 North Market Street, Marion, IL 62959.
