Marion- Betty J. McMillan, 92, of Marion, passed away at 11:35 AM, Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion. Marion- Betty June McMillan, 92 of Marion, formerly of Herrin passed away at 11:35 AM, Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Heartland Regional Medical Center. Betty was born on March 8, 1926 in Herrin, Illinois to Joseph and Grace (Sangwin) Eady. She married Charles O. “C.O.” McMillan on June 19, 1947 in Kentucky. He preceded her in death on August 12, 1992. They shared 45 years of marriage. Betty was a retired clerk for the Young Modern Shop and Montgomery Ward. She was a Christian and a member of the Herrin Women’s Club, the Retail Clerk Union, and the Marion Hospital Ladies Auxiliary. In her spare time she enjoyed oil painting and traveling all over with friends and family. Survivors include- Daughter- Karen (Jerry) Evrard of Punta Gorda, Florida Daughter- Sue Ann (Dale) Smith of Marion, Illinois Five Grandchildren- Susan (Greg) Hardwig of Naples, Florida Julie (Jason) Garcia of Evansville, Indiana Nathan (Tiffany) Smith of Marion, Illinois Jeremy (Tana) Smith of Murphysboro, Illinois Ashley (Elliott) Mummert of West Frankfort, Illinois Four Great Grandchildren- Sarah Hardwig of Naples, Florida Blake Boarman and Emma Marie Boarman of Evansville, Indiana Kassie Smith of Murphysboro, Illinois Nephew- Michael Brown of Herrin, Illinois She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her half-brother, Leon Brown. A graveside funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at Herrin City Cemetery. Chaplin Michael Brown will officiate. Friends and family are asked to meet directly at graveside. Funeral services were arranged at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.
