Bart Eugene Umdenstock

Herrin- Bart Eugene Umdenstock, 56, of Herrin, passed away at 8:29 AM, Saturday, December 10, 2016 at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. Bart was born on February 4, 1960 at Scott Air Force Base in O’Fallon, IL to Terry and Betty Jo (Monroe) Umdenstock.  He married Susan C. West on February 4, 2012 at the VA Hospital in Marion.  She survives of Herrin. He served his country bravely while enlisted in the United States Air Force.  Once honorably discharged, he returned home and began a career at the Marion VA Medical Center as first an LPN and later as a Pharmacy Tech until his retirement. He was Methodist and a member of the Blue Herron Marina and Campground in Carterville.  He enjoyed fishing for crappie, bluegill and bass on Crab Orchard Lake and shooting pool with his friends of the American Pool Association.  He was an avid supporter of Herrin Tiger Sports and will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Survivors include- Wife- Susan Umdenstock of Herrin Step Children- Jason Konkel and wife Darlene of Herrin Timothy Konkel of Herrin Chris Norton of Spokane Washington 6 grandchildren plus one on the way Brother- Keith Umdenstock of Marion Brother- Brett Umdenstock and wife Patricia of Marion Brother- Jeff Umdenstock of Herrin Brothers and sisters in law- Karen West of O’Fallon Terry Frontsak of Lake Villa Jeff West of Centralia Megan Holloway and husband Ed of Vandalia Several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews Many aunt and uncles Beloved dogs “Heidi” and “Max” Friends at Blue Herron Marina and Campground He was preceded in death by his parents. The funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM, Friday, December 16, 2016 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.  Rev. Jason McKinnies will officiate.  Military rites will be performed at the funeral home by the Herrin VFW and American Legion Posts..  A visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Friday, at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.
