Awbery Gene Beasley

Awbery Gene Beasley, age 80, of Marion, passed away at 6:50am on Friday, March 2, 2018, at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion. Awbery was born in Wickliffe, Kentucky on September 22, 1937, the son of Henry and Louise (Sutton) Beasley. He married Dale Graham in Wilmington on June 27, 1959. Together, they shared fifty-eight years of marriage. She survives in Marion. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Beasley had worked as a barber. He was a proud United States Air Force Veteran. Survivors include his wife- Dale Beasley of Marion, IL Daughter- Tammy Beasley-Castellano of Marion, IL Son- Gene and Kristy Beasley of Marion, Arkansas Three Grandson- Dane and Taylor Castellano of Marion, IL Gage Beasley of Marion, Arkansas Axel Beasley of Marion, Arkansas Great Grandchild- Hadley Jean Castellano of Marion, IL Sister- Frances Roderfeld of LaCenter, KY Sister- Henrietta Lyday of Sumter County, FL Sister- Joan Rush of Hendersonville, KY Special Nephew- David Beasley of LaCenter, KY Numerous Nieces and Nephews He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother- Jerry Beasley. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion. Pastor Marlin Otte and Pastor Dan Whitfield will officiate. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery with military honors provided by the Marion VFW Post 1301 and American Legion Post 147 with assistance from the United States Air Force. A time of visitation will be held from 11-1pm on Tuesday at the funeral home. For those who prefer, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
