Anna Stephens

Herrin- Anna Stephens, 94, of Herrin, died at 8:55 A.M., Wednesday, October 03, 2001 at Shawnee Christian Nursing Center in Herrin. Anna was born on February 27, 1907 in Belleville, IL to Sylvester & Maria Anna (Buechler) Stern. She married Loren Stephens on March 3, 1925 in Marion. He preceded her in death on May 8, 1983. Mrs. Stephens was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Church of God in Herrin and before that the First Christian Church, also in Herrin. SURVIVORS: Son & dtr in law- Charles E. & Ann Stephens- Nile, Mich Dtr & son in law- Dorothy & Jet Tolley- Lakeland, FL Dtr & son in law- Betty (Dann) & George Walters- Ft. Myers, FL Dtr- Judy Lenzini & Ken Lelli- Highwood, IL Dtr- Marie Moffatt- Phoenix, AZ Ten Grandchildren Four Great Grandchildren Sister & bro in law- Gladys & Elbert Frasier- Herrin Her parents, husband, two sons, one daughter, and three sisters preceded her in death. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 6, 2001 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Rev. Dan Smith will officiate. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9AM until time of service Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made out to the First Church of God in Herrin and will be accepted at the funeral home.
