Marion- Adolph Edwin Fluck, 93, passed away at 1:50 P.M., Sunday, September 30, 2001 at Parkway Manor in Marion. Adolph was born on March 11, 1908 in Marion, IL to Louis and Ella (Weber) Fluck. He married Louise Stahlhut on March 7, 1931. She preceded him in death on November 2, 1979. He later married Elsie Lambert on September 21, 1981. She died on January 13, 1989. On August 5, 1989 he married Pauline Wood. She survives of Marion. Mr. Fluck owned and operated a grocery and meat market for 36 years. He owned and operated a 160-acre cattle and hay farm for 18 years. For 5 years during that time he was Williamson County Coroner. He worked as a real estate salesman for 3 years, sold furniture for 2, and collected taxes for Williamson County for two years, was Director for General Assistance Office of Williamson County for four years. He was Director of the Williamson County Housing Authority for two years and retired in 1974. He served on the Goreville Township High School board for five years and on the Goreville City Council for four years. He served twelve years on the Marion City Council. He was on the Marion City Housing Board for fifteen years, and a former member of the Marion Lions Club. He was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, served on the church council for ten years, and served as deacon at various times. He was a member of Masonic Lodge AF&AM #89 and was a 32nd degree Mason. He was a member of Modern Woodmen of America. Survivors: Pauline Fluck- Marion Dtr & son in law- Jeanette & James Klope- Creal Springs Son & Dtr in law- Richard & Pamela Fluck- Rochelle, IL Step son & Dtr in law- Gordon & JoEllen Lambert- Marion Step Dtr & son in law- Barbara & David Patton- Marion Step Son & Dtr in law- Harold & Maria Wood- Raleigh, NC Bro & Sis in law- Alfred L. & Ida Fluck- Marion Three Grandsons One Great Grandson Five Step-Grandsons Five Step Granddaughters Six Step Great Grandchildren Numerous nieces and nephews His parents, two wives, one brother, one granddaughter, and one great grandson preceded him in death. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, October 3, 2001 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion. The Revs. Gary Burnett, Gordon Lambert, and Dr. Joey Brent will officiate. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be held from 5-9:00 PM, Tuesday, October 2, 2001 at the funeral home. Masonic Rites will provided by the Marion Masonic Lodge AF&AM #89, at 7:00 PM, Tuesday, at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Zion United Church of Christ or Charity of the donors choice and will be accepted at the funeral home.
