Mildred Eileen Singleton

Marion, Illinois-Mildred Eileen Singleton, 94, passed away at 1:53 pm on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at her home at the Lake of Eqypt.

As per her wishes, Mildred will be cremated. Graveside memorial services will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Kinmundy, Illinois on Saturday, July 6 at 11 am.

Mildred was born in Atlas, Illinois to Clifford and Ima Ferguson. She was predeceased by her husband, Kermit, her daughter Sara and son, Michael.

She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Ann Gammon, son-in-law, Fred and their two sons. Mildred is also survived by Michael’s wife, Karen and their five sons, as well as numerous grandchildren.

For those who prefer, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be accepted at Blue Funeral/ PO Box 411/ Marion, IL 62959.

    I met Mrs. Singleton when I was 4 years old. She gave me a freshly baked cinnamon roll, put a phone book under me so I could reach the table and poured me a glass of ice cold milk. I have loved her ever since.

    Eileen is know to our group of line dancers as “Stomper Mom”. Her son, Mike, was our MC and
    she was our cheering section. What a wonderful woman. She will be greatly missed.
