
Donald L. Fry, age 68, of Crab Orchard, passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at 5:45 a.m. at the VA Medical Center in Marion.
Don was born on April 16, 1952 in Carbondale, a son of Leo and Loudene (Edwards) Fry. He worked as an equipment operator for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and also as a coal miner. Don was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He loved grilling and barbequing, hunting, fishing, frog gigging and being outdoors watching animals. Don was a lifetime member of the Marion V.F.W. Post #1301.
Survivors include his son, Josh (Sarah) Fry of Crab Orchard; two daughters, Aubrey Collins of Russellville, AR and Austin Fry of Russellville, AR; five grandchildren, Brendon L. Fry, Dakhari Duncan, Lucas Fry, Ryleigh Collins and Amiyah Hopson; one brother, Stephen (Valerie) Fry of Crab Orchard; one sister, Patricia Smothers of Marion; one nephew, Dave (Natalie) Fry; and one niece, Rachel (Charles) Blumstein.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Don Smothers; and a nephew, Matthew Smothers.
Funeral services will held at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. with Charles Reed officiating. Military rites will be performed by the Marion V.F.W. and American Legion Posts.
Visitation will be held at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
