Herrin- David Franklin Clark, Sr., age 68, of Herrin, passed away at 3:36am on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at Helia Healthcare of Energy.

David was born in Herrin on May 14, 1946, the son of Frank B. and Leva Geraldine “Julie” (Griffin) Clark. He married the love of his life, LaDonna Robinson, on June 1, 1968 in Herrin. She preceded him in death on January 14, 2010. They shared forty-two blessed years of marriage.

Mr. Clark was a member of the West Monroe Apostolic Church in Herrin, where he was very active. He retired from Norge/Maytag after more than thirty years of service.

Survivors include-

Daughter- Tara Cohoon of Herrin

Daughter- Angela Wagner & husband Scott of New Burnside

Son- David Clark & wife Melissa of Herrin

Like a second daughter- Clarissa Gross-Michalak of Loda Eleven Grandchildren:

Kayla, Michal & Lissa Richardson of Herrin

Brandon & Kenton Clark of Lakeland, FL

Dylan Clark of Herrin

Baili Clark of Marion

Zachery & Matthew Wagner of New Burnside

Braxton and Layla Wade of Herrin

Three Great Grandchildren- Joseph, Jillian, and Kaiden

Brother-in-law- Leon Robinson & wife Bertha of Carterville

Brother-in-law- Pastor Ray Robinson & wife Connie of Branson, MO

Brother- Bob Clark of Herrin

Several nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife- LaDonna, grandson- Jonathon Mezo, son in law- Mike Cohoon, Brother- Richard Clark, sister- Carolyn Odom & husband Tom, sister-in-law- Karen Clark, and his mother-in-law and father-in-law- Paul J. and Hazel (Newton) Robinson.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at West Monroe Apostolic Church in Herrin. Pastor Terry Griffith will officiate. Burial will follow at Egyptian Memorial Gardens in Energy.

In honor of David’s life, there will be a musical celebration from 5-6pm on Monday, December 29, 2014 at the West Monroe Apostolic Church. A time of visitation will follow from 6-9:00 p.m. on Monday evening at the church. Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin is assisting the family with final arrangements.

Memorial donations are suggested to the West Monroe Apostolic Church and will be accepted at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin / 201 S. 13th St/ Herrin, IL 62948.

    I think your mom and dad were my favorite Dairy Queen customers. I got to know them both. I loved your dad. he was such a wonderful person. He helped me many times in my spiritual life. One day he walked up to the counter and I said to him “O mighty man of valor!” Judges 6:12…I thought he was going to cry right there. Such a bright light in so many lives. I am so sorry I didnt get to see him one last time before he passed.
