Shirley Ann Cobb

Hurst- Shirley Ann Cobb, age 73, of Hurst, passed away at 1:15am on Friday, June 24, 2016 at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. Shirley was born on December 28, 1942 in Cleveland, OH to Chester and Hazel (Williams) Taylor. She married James Ronnie Cobb on June 28, 2006 in Marion. He preceded her in death on April 10, 2010. She formerly worked in the catering/food business and retired from the Hurst Water Department. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her. Survivors include- Daughter- Pam Serna of Cleveland, OH Daughter- Jackie Meneese of Hurst Daughter- Lisa Hanzel of Hurst Daughter- Cheryl Hanzel of West Virginia Daughter- Tonya Dunning of Herrin Eighteen grandchildren Twenty three great grandchildren Sister- Doris Pratt of Herrin Sister- Loudene Gee of Herrin Sister- Judy Holderfield of Herrin Sister- Murl Crabtree and husband Clint of Herrin Sister- Paula Copher and husband LeRoy of Orient Many nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 sisters- Maxine Wright and Carolyn Hendricks and 4 brothers- Bob, Ray, Earl and Donald Taylor. The funeral service will be held at 1pm on Monday, June 27, 2016 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Rev. Don Colson will officiate. Burial will follow at Blairsville Cemetery.
