Randall Tyson Parker

Randall T. Parker, 72, of Marion, passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at 4:30 pm at his home in Marion.  Randy was born May 14, 1944 in Marion the son of Joseph and Adris (Ingram) Parker.  He married Patti Dungey on February 3, 1979 in Marion and together they shared over 37 years of marriage.  He retired from Amax Coal Company, he was a member of the UMWA.  Randy loved to work on anything with a motor, big or small.  He rarely turned down a challenge to fix whatever friends dropped off at his garage.  Everyone knew that if the garage door was open he was happy to sit and visit with friends and neighbors.  His greatest joy were his children and grandchildren and enjoying their many accomplishments in life.  This past year he asked the Lord into his heart and his faith brought him comfort in his final days.  In addition to his wife, Patti he is survived by his;Three daughters;   Kim Fleming and husband Kevin of Marion   Kyla Parker of Marion   Kerri Parker of Marion Seven grandchildren;   Carly Allgaier   Brayden Parker,   Gavin Parker   Mikka McKinney   Casey Helton   Zach Fear   Noah Fear Eight great grandchildren Brother – Allen Parker and wife Karen of Pittsburg Sister – Jolene Arrowood and husband Gary of Pittsburg Sister – Janice Nichols of Marion  Preceded by his Parents, Son – James Tyson “JT” Parker, Brother – Eddie Parker and Sister – Joyce Anne Parker.  Memorial services will be Sunday, August 14, 2016 at 3 pm at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. John Howat officiating.  Visitation will be Sunday from 1 pm until the time of service at the funeral home.  For those who prefer memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital.  Envelopes will be available and accepted at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home, 800 North Market Street, Marion, Illinois  62959.
