Linda Sue Farrell, age 72, of Herrin, passed away at 12:35pm on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at the Veteran’s Affairs Community Living Center in Marion.

Linda was born in Paris, Illinois on March 21, 1948, the daughter of Le Roy and Doris (Adams) Hood. She married John James Farrell in St. James, Missouri on January 12, 1973. He survives.

Linda was a proud United States Army Veteran, having served from August 7, 1972 to April 15, 1974.

Survivors include her husband- John James Farrell of Herrin

Son- Michael Kilcullen of Urbana

Son- Bradley and Kim Kilcullen of Fairbury

Two Grandchildren- Jacob and Joshua Kilcullen of Fairbury

Great Granddaughter- Madison Kilcullen of Fairbury

Brother- Phillip Hood of Coban, Colorado

Three Half Sisters- Rebecca Ballinger of Charleston

     Cynthia Hart and Cheryl Hood of Monte Vista, Colorado

She was preceded in death by her parents, half brother- James Hood and half sister- Rosalie Hood.

As per the family’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Memorial services will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at Egyptian Memorial Gardens in Energy with Pastor Angie Ransom officiating. Family and friends are asked to gather directly at the cemetery. Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin is assisting the family with final arrangements.
