Delesta June Beasley, age 92, of Marion, passed away at 11:14pm on Monday, September 6, 2021 at Parkway Manor in Marion.

Delesta was born in Herrin on February 7, 1929, the daughter of William Doris and Mattie (Hammonds) Lyell. She married James Henry Beasley of West Frankfort. He preceded her in death in 1987.

Prior to her retirement, Delesta had worked as a nurses’ aide.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Son- Gary Lee Beasley, Grandson- Michael King, brother- Dewey, and three sisters- Gloria, Maxcine, and Jenny Lyell.

Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held from 11-1pm on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home.
