Beverly J. “Bev.” McClure age 72, of Freeman Spur, Illinois, passed away Sunday, November 21, 2021 at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale, Illinois.
Bev was born August 12, 1949 in Elkville, Illinois, a daughter of Archie and Rachel A. (Creekmore) Fann. She married Jerry D. “JD” McClure on September 01, 2002.
Bev was born in Elkville, IL and attended Hurst-Bush High School. She married and started her family and worked many years at Hardees in Murphysboro. She later worked at Lewis Elementary School in Carbondale in the cafeteria and as a cook and at other schools in the district. Bev loved camping, going fishing, canning goods from her garden, quilting, embroidering, and baking.
She is survived by her husband Jerry D. “JD” McClure of Freeman Spur, IL; three children, Steven R. (April)Parini of Freeman Spur, IL, Jeffrey D. Walker of Altoona, WI, and Leanna J. (Jim) Persinger of Smithville, TX; eight grandchildren, Timothy Ward, Micheal Walker, Amanda Walker; Ryan Walker, Zachary Walker, McKenna Walker, Xach (Katie) Persinger, and Trevor Persinger; Three great grandchildren; her mother-in-law, Anna Bell McClure of West Frankfort, IL; seven siblings, John (Jeannie) Fann of Mt. Vernon, KS, Jimmy (Phyllis) Fann of Royalton, IL, Jackie (Jeff) Harvey of Oswego, IL, Victor (Kathy) Fann of Blairsville, IL, Pris Jones of Hurst, IL, Connie Macke (Ray Hall) of Herrin, IL; step sister Bessie Mann of Marion, MN. She is preceded in death by one grandchild, Jacob Walker; her parents, Archie J. and Rachel A. Fann; one brother, Vernon Ray Fann; and her step sister, Lois Gholson, step brother Bill Parker, and step brother Homer Parker.
Visitation will be Friday, November 26, 2021 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin from 4-7 PM.and again Saturday morning from 9-10 AM. Funeral Service will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, November 27th, 2021 at Johnson Hughes with Rev. Rick McClintock officiating. Burial will follow at Egyptian Memorial Gardens in Energy.
