Clinton Webster Crabtree, Sr., age 68, of Herrin, passed away at 3:27pm on Thursday, March 26, 2020 at Herrin Hospital.

Clinton was born in Eldorado on February 4, 1952, the son of Luther and Florence (Brewer) Crabtree. He married Murl Taylor in Herrin on July 5, 1979. She survives in Herrin.

Clint had worked as a roofer. He was a member of the Herrin VFW and American Legion. He was a proud United States Veteran.

Son- Clinton Crabtree, Jr of Herrin

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother- Mike Crabtree, Grandson- Robert “Shorty” Dillon, Sister-in-law- Shirley Cobb, and two brother-in-laws- Bob and Donald Taylor.

DUE TO HEALTH CONCERNS RELATED TO THE COVID-19 VIRUS AND BY THE SIGNING OF EXECUTIVE ORDER BY GOVERNOR J.B. PRITZKER, a private graveside service will be held at Herrin City Cemetery with Rev. Don Colson officiating. Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin is assisting the family with final arrangements.

    Rita, so sorry to hear of Clinton’s passing. I remember him from when he and Jeffrey were very little boys. Spent many good times at your parent’s house with you and your siblings. This is especially sad coming at this time when there cannot be a complete funeral and visitation. You and your family are in my prayers.
