There are only a handful of people that I have met in my travels through the world of broadcasting that I would put into the category of having a golden voice. Clyde was one of those voices and even that was just a small hint at his personality and demeanor. Rest in peace my friend, and if you don’t already have everyone in Heaven in stiches, you just haven’t gotten within earshot of them yet. =)

My thoughts and prayers are with Clyde’s family. He was a nice, talented, smart, all around great guy back in High School. I kind of lost touch but was able to talk by phone a few years ago and hoped to see him again. Everyone always enjoyed Clyde’s presence and I can imagine he must have been a great father and husband. Go with God, my friend.

I grew up with Clyde in Sikeston and this breaks my heart to lose him this soon.He was wonderful boy and an even better man. Played many times at his house….loved his mother, she was a wonderful woman…we played in the band together, him on sax & me trumpet. Talked to him a few months ago for the first time in over 40 years & when he picked up & I said hello he knew who it was immediately & said “hello Tunney! How you doin?” remarkable man and friend… will miss him greatly, but what beautiful memories he left…

Clyde was a great friend, singer, and band mate. He made high school great fun. Many great memories at his home and on the rode. What the Epic of Sound did in music, it was his voice that was in front, Will miss him.

Pat, Myra and David…I learned of Clyde’s passing about 40 minutes after his funeral service began. I am so sorry that I was not able to attend. Clyde was a good man and one of the best bosses I ever had. He will be missed, and all of you will be in my prayers.
