Marion- Shirley Ann Hill, age 78, of Marion, passed away at 10:30am on Friday, July 24, 2015 at Shawnee Christian Nursing Center in Herrin.
Shirley was born on September 13, 1936, in Stonefort, IL, the daughter of Dewey and Pauline (Morrow) Stucker. She married Bill Hill, Jr. in Marion on April 4, 1958. He preceded her in death on October 6, 2003.
Mrs. Hill had retired as a registered nurse from the VA Hospital after more than 28 years of dedicated service. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was of Baptist faith.
Shirley was a hardworking woman who enjoyed spending her life caring for her family as well as others. She took great pride in caring for the patients at the VA Hospital. She also loved her pets and animals.

Great Grandchildren- Madison and Talan Lindsey of Tunnel Hill
Brother-in-law- Freeman Hill of Bellflower, CA
Sister-in-law- Dee Hill of Onyx, CA
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one infant brother.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Glenn Sanders officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Delwood. Visitation will be held from 11:00AM to 1:00PM on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion.
