I will always treasure that fateful day when Mr. JC came to Same Day Surgery at Herrin Hospital for a routine procedure. I could tell he was a well-loved Dad because he had a roomful of visitors. I went to his room with an extra chair and told him I “stole” it but I will not get in trouble because I have a green card. That remark “broke the ice” and Mr. JC enjoyed all my Filipino ethnic jokes. I thank Father God that I gained the precious friendship of a loving American family. It is heartbreaking to let you go Mr. JC but I believe my Daddy ( also a Military man), Col. Abelardo P. Andal will welcome you with a 21-gun salute (not 3) in Heaven because to all of us whose lives you have touched …you’re the TOP GUY!!! I love you Mr. JC!!!
