Eldon Lee Stotlar, 84, of Buckner, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at 9:40 pm at Stonebridge Skilled Care in Benton.

Eldon was born April 30, 1931 in Alton the son of Claude and Myrtle (Griffin) Stotlar. He married Wilma Angela Reed on June 30, 1951 in Alton and together they shared over 34 years of marriage until her death on August 14, 1985.

He was a veteran, proudly serving in the Air Force, stationed in Japan. He retired from the Marion Federal Prison and prior to that he worked at the Busy Bee grocery store. Eldon did watch repair at Bainbridge Jewelry in Marion. He was member of the Marion VFW Post #1301, American Legion Post #147 and the Marion Elks, previously serving as Exalted Ruler.

Survivors include his;
Four daughters;
Catherine Marie Barton (Danny) of Mt. Calm, Texas
Susan K. Tuggle (Charles) of West Frankfort
Donna Lea Strohmeier (David) of Cincinnati, Ohio
Vivian Louise Stotlar and Scott Strait of DuQuoin
Eight Grandchildren
Eleven Great Grandchildren
Brother – Russell Stotlar (Phyllis) of Marion
Aunt – Wanda Van of Marion

Preceded by his Parents, Wife, Brother – Wendell Stotlar, two Sisters – Carol Lorraine and Phyllis Stotlar

The memorial service will be Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 1 pm at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home. Military rites will be presented by members of the Marion VFW Post #1301 and American Legion Post #147 at the funeral home. Inurnment will follow in Cana Cemetery.
