Joan A. (Coup) Bedel, 75, passed away on Monday, June 16, 2014 at 3:37 pm at her home.

Joan was born February 20, 1939 the daughter of Clifford T. and Frances E. (Howard) Coup at St. James Hospital in Pontiac, Illinois. She married Beryl D. Bedel on February 19, 1989 in Marion. They celebrated their 25th anniversary on February 19, 2014.

She worked for Illinois Bell in Springfield for 20 years, before retiring to Marion. Joan loved working with flowers and was especially proud of keeping their home mowed and trimmed with flowers all over, as her pastime.

William (Bill) Rose and wife Debi of Chatam
Jamie Lee Rose and wife Angie of Springfield
Brenda Sue Ocampo and husband Orlando of Syracuse, New York
Kendall Ray Bedel and wife Tina of St. Louis, Missouri
Kerry Bedel and wife Liz of Portland, Oregon
Thirteen Grandchildren
Six Great Grandchildren
Loving sister – Sunny Lee Pike and husband Terry of Marion
Niece – Margaret VanHorn and husband Brian of Marion
Nephews;
John R. Pike of Marion
Steven T. Pike and wife Nicki of Marion
Three great nieces – Kara and Haley VanHorn and Abby Pike of Marion
Cousin – Charlotte Smith of Geneseo

Preceded in death by her Parents, Grandparents and In-laws.

A Memorial service will be held on Friday, June 20, 2014 at 11 am at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff VanDyke officiating. Visitation will be held from 9 am until the time of service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers donations are suggested to the Pancreatic Cancer Research Foundation or a charity of your choice. Envelopes will be available and accepted at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home, 800 North Market Street, Marion, IL 62959.
