Christopher- Earl Louis Lorenzo McKenzie, age 75, of Christopher, passed away at 6:15pm on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at HerrinHospital.

Earl was born in Chicago Heights on November 25, 1938, the son of Alvin Louis and Vienna (DeAngelo) McKenzie. He married Patsy Domineck in Bush on June 2, 1957. She survives in Christopher.

Mr. McKenzie was a member of ChristChurch. He served as a minister at various churches and was a retired, self-employed carpenter.

Survivors include his wife- Patsy McKenzie of Christopher

Daughter- Rhonda and Fred Gustave of Marion

Daughter- Loretta and Danny Towle of Carterville

Daughter- Linda and Charles Modglin of Carterville

Son- Mark Louis and Regina McKenzie of Alabama

Eight Grandchildren- Jason Pinkston, Ryan Towle, Julie Rushing, Ben McKenzie, Mark McKenzie,

Richelle Towle, Gavin McKenzie, and Zach Modglin

Nine Great Grandchildren

Two sisters- Cindy Kain of Chicago Heights

Patty O’Donnell of Monee

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister- Diane DiMascio.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at First Church of God; 901 N. 3rd Street; Herrin, IL 62948. Rev. Todd Greiner will officiate. Burial will follow at BlairsvilleCemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00am until 2:00pm on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at the First Church of God in Herrin. Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin is assisting the family with arrangements.
