Carterville- Robert Morris Radford, age 64, of Carterville, passed away at 1:10pm on Sunday, June 2, 2013 at Herrin Hospital.
Robert was born in Herrin on September 9, 1948, the son of Paul and June (Crain) Radford. He married Joy Lynn English in Herrin on August 6, 1969. She survives in Herrin.
Mr. Radford proudly served in the United States Navy, serving as an E-5 Petty Officer in the Naval Aviation Unit at Barber’s Point, Hawaii.
Survivors include his wife- Joy Lynn Radford of Carterville
Daughter- Mary and Doug Childers of Johnston City
Son- Ryan Radford of Carterville
Five Grandchildren- Samantha Childers

Cheyenne Childers
Jake Farmer
Brianna Childers
Two Great Grandchildren- Jamond and Kamira
He was preceded in death by his parents, two grandchildren- Kaylynn Radford and Robert Hoffard.
Memorial graveside services will be held at 11:00am on Friday, June 7, 2013 at Herrin City Cemetery with Rev. Don Colson officiating. Military honors will be presented by Marion’s Military Ceremonial Team comprised of Marion’s American Legion and VFW Posts. Assistance will be provided by the National Guard Flag Honor Detail. Family and friends are asked to meet directly at the cemetery. Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin is assisting the family with memorial arrangements.
