Herrin- Steven D. “Stub” Stubblefield, 67, of Herrin, passed away at 6:52PM, Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
Steven was born on December 20, 1945 in Herrin to James and Flora L. (Armstrong) Stubblefield.
He worked for more than 33 years in the geology department at SIU-C before his retirement in 2003.
He enjoyed antiquing and collecting rare items, as well as spending time with his friends and loved ones.
He was Methodist, but most recently attended Christian Covenant Fellowship in Carterville.

Cousin- Janice Shewmaker of Franklin, IN
Close friend- Mike Mercer and wife Dee of Herrin
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother- Jim Joe Stubblefield and sister- Doris King.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 21, 2013 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Rev. Jack King and Rev. Ralph Brandon will officiate. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until time of service, Saturday at the funeral home.
