Eleanor "Ellie" Simmons
Anna Eleanor Ellie Simmons, 77, passed away on Friday, October 09, 2009 at 9:54 A.M. at Angel Acres.
Eleanor was born November 6, 1931 to Artie E. & Ethel (Crosson) Banks, Sr. She married Harry N. Simmons on October 3, 1954 and together they shared 39 years of marriage until his death on September 29, 1993.
Eleanor was a member of Aldersgate Methodist Church of Marion and earlier years had attended Faith Chapel Church of Carrier Mills. She worked as a bookkeeper for Goodyear Tire in Marion for many years. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, being around her family and doing for others.

Preceded by Parents, Husband, Infant Daughter Tina Ann, Brothers Patrick Crossen and Artie Eugene Banks, Jr.
Funeral services will be Monday, October 12, 2009 at 11 A.M. at Faith Chapel Church with Rev. Mark Hutson and Rev. Gary Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 5:00 8:00 P.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion.
For those who prefer memorials may be made to Angel Acres or TIP Hospice. Envelopes will be available and accepted at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home, 800 North Market Street, Marion, IL 62959.
